While much has changed since we began this work, two things remain true: the urgent need for transformational entrepreneurs to take on society’s most complex challenges with innovative pathways to improve the lives of the most vulnerable; and that these early-stage unrestricted investments, dedicated to exceptional entrepreneurs who see the possible, are the building block for profound, lasting positive change.

More important than the sheer size of that impact is its depth and its persistence. What we have learned over time and see over and over again, is that when change takes place at this kind of level of scale, it simply cannot be easily undone. Not by conflict, not by changes in government, not even by a loss of will. When hope and expectations for a better life take hold, they are not easily replaced.
