Mike works with the Draper Richards Kaplan Foundation team to find and support early-stage social enterprises across Africa. With more than 15 years of experience in private equity, venture capital, portfolio management, and business analysis across Sub-Saharan Africa, Mike has spent much of his career helping businesses strengthen their strategy, finance, and day-to-day execution as they grow.

Before joining DRK, Mike was Head of Investments at CcHUB Africa, where he led investment support and investment readiness work to early stage businesses across different countries and sectors. Prior to CcHUB, he held investment roles at Zephyr Management, Tiserin Capital, and Kibo Capital Partners, with experience spanning deal sourcing, due diligence, execution, portfolio management, and investor reporting. He has also advised and served on the boards of several growth-stage businesses across agriculture, financial services, education, logistics, and technology.

Mike is especially interested in backing and supporting entrepreneurs who are building practical, resilient businesses that widen access to essential products and services, and strengthen local markets. His work combines investing with hands-on support to leadership teams, including strategic finance, fundraising, operational improvement, and long-term planning.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®). Mike is based in Nairobi, Kenya.
