Debra “Deb” Eschmeyer, a leading nutrition and local food advocate, has replaced Sam Kass as executive director of Let’s Move! and senior policy advisor for nutrition policy, the White House announced Thursday morning. Eschmeyer comes to the administration from FoodCorps, an AmeriCorps service program she co-founded that just this year placed 200 service members into schools in 17 states to promote healthier eating through school gardens, cooking classes and revamped school lunch menus.
