Education nonprofit Open Up Resources and curriculum author EL Education have a similar mission at heart: make engaging, accessible resources for teachers. The two organizations recently partnered to do that and now offer a free K-5 English Language Arts (ELA) program to show for it.

The year-long curriculum, which can be used fully-digital or in print, builds upon a curriculum EL Education produced in 2012—and has been downloaded more than 8 million times—for New York’s EngageNY effort. It includes hands-on activities and lessons around popular texts such as “Esperanza Rising,” and will be available in time for the 2017 to 2018 school year.
